AwardsCongratulations to Ian Burnham on being voted Player of the Season 2010-11. The runner up was Bob Smith, who received the same number of votes, but the deciding factor was the number of Man of the Match awards received by each player throughout the whole season.Well done to Peter Lawrence, who was voted as most improved player of the season. His switch to playing in the back line has suited him very well. Veterans Hockey Veterans hockey is played by men over the age of 35 years. Some of the squad have been members of Andover Hockey Club for a very long time. All the players have a great deal of experience and, although some may not be as fast as they used to be, their accumulated understanding of the game leads to some very enjoyable matches.There is a great team spirit and the social aspect of the game has a high profile Andover Diamonds are enjoying their third season as a league team, and play in the Wessex Masters League Division II. All of the teams in this Division are within a fifty mile radius of Andover. We find that we are always bumping into old friends and foes as we work our way around the circuit. If you are interested in joining Andover Diamonds, please contact us, or just turn up to training which takes place every Tuesday evening at 8.30 pm at Charlton Leisure Centre astroturf pitch.
